When Will The Shoe Drop?
Hillary’s been having a better week than Obama since her “big” win on Tuesday, and Wright’s coming back to continue to make a dent in the currently flailing Obama. What is up with Reverend Wright? Is he now just capitalizing on the idea that people are listening to him? Though, his interview tonight on PBS if made to humanize him may actually help Obama in the long term.
Hillary 2012? You say? Hmm. According to Reuter’s in a blog entry made by jkddude over on the Daily Kos, “
House Democratic Whip James Clyburn, of South Carolina and the highest ranking black in Congress, also said he has heard speculation that Clinton is staying in the race only to try to derail Obama and pave the way for her to make another White House run in 2012.
“I heard something, the first time yesterday (in South Carolina), and I heard it on the (House) floor today, which is telling me there are African Americans who have reached the decision that the Clintons know that she can’t win this. But they’re hell-bound to make it impossible for Obama to win” in November, Clyburn told Reuters in an interview.
So, why would Hillary do this? It’s the same old same old and the same old same old – it’s the Clinton thirst for power and control that makes her want to. If she had sense she’d drop out and help Obama all the way, and MAKE him win, then become one the moist voiced Vice President’s in the history of the United States. Trek with Obama through 2012, help him get re-elected, and then step up with the success of a Democratic White House for 8 years, and take over in 2016.
That’s WAY too long for Hillary, who by then, will probably just want to sit on a stoop and watch the grandchildren play.
And where are we now? What’s next?
Countdown to North Carolina and Indiana: 11 days
Countdown to West Virginia: 18 days
Countdown to Kentucky and Oregon: 25 days
Countdown to Election Day 2008: 193 days
Countdown to Inauguration Day 2009: 270 days
Not many contests left, and mathematically Obama is still winning and with Superdelegates shifting around between now and the day a decision is made things are still promising for Obama. A Hillary win will be acceptable I guess, but not as welcome.
