First off...Congrats, Kudos y toda esa baina! Love the name, love the insight! I definitely will be looking out for the days ahead of "Political Mangu"!

Bueno...

I just wanted to comment on the whole Barack bandwagon thing. As a dominican american as well, I think politics are embedded in our DNA. Some of us might not know it yet but it does grow as we (Domini-mericans) mature in this country. Especially growing up in Da Heights (Washington Heights, New York for those who don't know!) Anyway, I have always been the observer. I sit, I think and I anylize alot before I decide. Thats just me, but isn't that the purpose of an election? Aren't we supposed to listen to ALL points of views and see where these politicians stand on the issues, their values and ideas before we make a choice?

Oh my bad, I think people are associating this as a "sports thing" rather than a "life thing". This isn't about being a Bulls Fan in the 90's because they won multiple championships (I'm a Knicks fan as well and yes, I am bitter). This is a political PROCESS. We do have to jump on the bandwagon in this process when it inspires us. Granted, it is a popularity contest (I mean, keep it real...some people don't even know the issues these people stand for), it maybe tarnished and imperfect, but at least we have a choice.

Oh well, so be it, I'll happily jump on the Barack bandwagon. I won't go into specific details on why I choose to jump on his bandwagon (Universal Healthcare people) but I'll give you what I think is the most important reason. This is the first time (in my lifetime) where I felt that a politician has had an overwhelming understanding of ALL the people he will represent. His "Yes We Can" Speech opened my eyes and his second speech just re-affirmed my belief. He is the voice that I want to represent ME, a Dominican-American!

But hey, an "Obama-Hilary 08" poster wouldn't look half bad come November!

So let's ride that bandwagon like a carro publico going to el malecon on a friday night!!!

Ya tu sabes! Tato!
